  * do small study on SETT variance in static environment... purposely vary sending data rate
  * figure out how to set up small topology (using some ethernet filtering program)

  * simulate packet loss to make sure bitmap-based retransition works
  * read about how HOP handles (1) ACK losses and (2) initial signalling and make comparison chart
  * make timing diagram

  * learn about splitting and merging algorithms
  * setup meeting w/ Ray
  * think about how to apply this to MobilityFirst

  * think about how a flow could be established for real-time traffic using GUIDs
  * if a destination receiving traffic moves, how could networks use the GNRS to establish a new flow on-the-fly?
  * consider what a thin transport-layer protocol would look like over a hop-by-hop network

  * think about open research question in the GSTAR spec
    * how are LETTs best computed?
    * how is the path storage metric best captured?
    * what changes are needed for GSTAR to automatically adapt to wired environments?
