FLAT ADDRESS

" It is well-known that current Internet architecture, conflates identity with location information ( IP address). To address the services such as host/network mobility, multi-homing , special network scenarios as vehicular networks where we need dynamic creation and independent control, it requires that we separate naming from location. We are using GUID for this purpose. GUID serves just as the identity information, while network address is maintained using distributed hash table. Now, we could think of routing directly on host identities themselves, eliminating the need for network layer protocols to include any address information. Key to attaining this is routing on flat address ".
